Sahihi Green Run 2020
During these unprecedented times, it’s quite hard for people to accept to gather in large groups.
We took extra precaution at the 2020 Sahihi Green Run by inviting just a few people to participate, while observing the newly implemented covid-19 rules and regulations by the government.
Our objective for the run was to celebrate the two-year achievement in connection with supporting bright needy students to further their studies to the university level, training local low-scale farmers on permaculture, enhancing food security and taking care of our environment by planting crop friendly trees.
These efforts have definitely been made possible thanks to a great collaboration with the county government of Kiambu, Kenya Forest Service and most importantly the local community.
In addition to these celebrations, we recorded the highest number of staff participation.
Not only does the staff’s participation show support in championing and running for a good cause, but their participation shows commitment in seeing this annual event succeed.
We hosted a 12km run that included both male and female participants. Our goal was not to compete but to enjoy the run with our guests; the area chief who flagged off the run, Gatatha farm manager, Cianda High School principal and a high school teacher from Githiga High school.
We are also grateful to our sponsors, Sama Ice, who have always supported our initiative since its’s conception.
